Bonjour Vogue lovers!!!
You know you are incomparable when you have a flair for blazing the Bohemian ensemble and can rock the look as much as you dazzle in a Business Suit. My love for Bohemian vêtement has only soared over the years and it is here to evolve and stay to break the norm, for Bohemian is not just a style, but a culture on its own!!
The Bohemian style is of the daring, free spirited and unconventional souls. The Bohemian dressing has a quaint and an outlandish vibe. Bohemianism arose from a movement in France and is originated back in the 1700’s and it spread to the other capitals at the end of the 18th Century and the beginning of the 20th Century. It started out as a counter culture by the French Artists, writers and creatives who encouraged artistic expression and rejected the accepted trends and suffocating rules of the past.
Forced to live in poverty post the French Revolution, these artists began living a simpler life with less possessions and more creative freedom. This slowly evolved into the Bohemian mindset from the streets of France to UK and to the United States. People started employing their creativity through their new found love for expressing themselves through ingenious and quirky outfits.

During Covid when Relaxed & Comfort wear became the new cool, it also gave the Boho look a huge come back. The Bohemian aesthetic celebrates it’s niche today across the world.
Boho Chic has elements of Retro and Hippie fashion that also reflects a personality’s edgy and a unique side. The Boho elements are like the one’s you see me adorn. The top with the hanging ropes and a bold detail on the waistline is captivating. The Bohemian style is far from structured elegant looks and is zany and anomalous.

The Bohemians dressed in quirky ways and the general public compared them to gypsies who migrated from an area in Eastern Europe called the”Bohemia”. That is how the name “Bohemian” was given to the new style of dressing. The French used to look down upon the Bohemians initially but soon after they were described as inventive with an eclectic sense of style.
The elements in the Bohemian dressing vary from folk and floral patterns, inspired by art and rustic elements, as well as a plethora of ethnic prints. Bohemian clothing is made of different fabrics, materials and designs. From flowing satin, Silk, cotton, Linen, Crochet, Leather, Suede, Denim etc.

Bohemianism is all about expressing yourself and owning who you are. It also reflects one’s sense of being. I love the look I am adorning with the Black Boots that match the detailing on the top. The Ropes hanging from the top give it a rather care a damn undertone. The denims are shredded and oozes some bad ass rebelliousness. I certainly experiment with my looks often but THE BOHEMIAN STYLE has a special place in my heart for it is real and bold.
Accessorising the Boho look is a lot of fun, as it makes it all intense and dramatic. I am a huge fan of leather and now consciously use the vegan Leather options for belts, bracelets, bags etc. It’s never ending what one can do with the gorgeous accessories …..feathers, leather headbands, bracelets, earrings made of crochet, crystals etc. simply seduce the look.

The Boho Style is of those who create and explore the path of freedom and creativity. In fact, as my journey on the spiritual path has progressed, my admiration for Bohemianism has gone deeper for it sets one free from the confined norms. Clothes are an extension of one’s state of mind and each look builds that aura around.
I loved putting this attire together with the accessories, as each piece is bought from a different country. My crystal studded feather earrings are from Phuket from a brand called “Chandra” and were made in Bali. The neck piece is a special one & I found in an antique shop in India. The Labrodarite Mala is a very special one, made with hand cut beads from my collection “ Selene”. The crystal bracelets are also from my Jewellery collection called “Selene”.
